focus: let’s build a wall
about: Wall-O-books is a rapidly growing network of alternate learning centers for vulnerable children in India, designed to transform their reading, thinking and expression skills, connect them with one another for better social integration, and finally help them take their learning back to their families to change the way they are growing up. Wall-O-Books walks up to all kinds of places in India, collects 100 kids and helps them build a hypercool library of their own using just a wall – a Wall-O-Books. They then equip it with a startup stash of 100 books, a world map, a light bulb and a few more things and elect a little librarian to take care of it. Wall-O-Books runs 159 centers, reaching 45,000+ children. They want to build 2900 centers (100 in each state) covering 1 million children in the next two years.
